Niles Police Reports, Feb. 17-21

Information in Police Blotter is obtained from the Niles, Morton Grove and Park Ridge police departments. Individuals listed in Police Blotter charged with a crime have not been proven guilty in court. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

NILES

FEBRUARY 17

A tarp measuring 20 feet by 30 feet was stolen from the soccer field at Ni-Ridge Park, 1101 N. Chester Ave., between February 9 and February 17, police said.

Cash was reported stolen overnight between February 16 and February 17 from an unlocked car parked on the 1100 block of South Home Avenue.

FEBRUARY 18

Two locked bicycles were stolen from a bike rack on the 400 block of Busse Highway, police said.

Two unknown people were seen in the backyard of a home on the 1000 block of South Knight Avenue where a gate was broken, police said.

A lamp on the 200 block of West Lake Avenue was reported damaged.

FEBRUARY 19

A 6-foot section a wooden fence was reportedly damaged between February 18 and February 19 on the 200 block of Gillick Street.

Stacked concrete slabs were dropped on the ground outside a house on the 1000 block of Peterson Avenue, causing them to break, between 1 and 3 a.m., police said. Beer cans have also been reported thrown on the property “regularly,” according to police.

Eggs were reportedly thrown at a house on the 1000 block of Lois Court on February 19 between 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. A car was also egged overnight between February 19 and February 20 while parked on the 300 block of South Lincoln Avenue, police said.

FEBRUARY 20

“Several hundred dollars” worth of cosmetics were reported stolen from Mariano’s, 1900 S. Cumberland Ave.

FEBRUARY 21

Three men were seen stealing various snacks from a gas station on the 1100 block of West Touhy Avenue around 1 a.m., police said.

A small to mid-size sedan was seen driving around the field at Carpenter School, 300 N. Hamlin Ave., police said.
