Information in Police Blotter is obtained from the Niles, Morton Grove and Park Ridge police departments. Individuals listed in Police Blotter charged with a crime have not been proven guilty in court. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

NILES

MAY 6

Resident of the 9700 block of Huber Lane reportedly lost $800 in a ruse entry. Police said the money was taken from the woman’s purse after a man came to her home to talk about performing work on a fence.

MAY 6

Yatzaira Nava, 29, of Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence on May 6 after police said she was stopped for driving without headlights.

MAY 8

A Chicago woman was ticketed on the afternoon after police said she left her 2-year-old child alone and asleep in a car while she was shopping in the 5600 block of Touhy Avenue.

Police responded to a restaurant in the 7000 block of Dempster Street after an employee allegedly threatened another worker and the two got involved in a “pushing match.” No charges were filed.

MAY 10

A 27-year-old Chicago woman was ticketed for public intoxication on May 10 after police said she was intoxicated at a facility in the 809 block of Civic Center.

Narquise Morris-Holyfield, 22, of Chicago, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, police said. According to police, Morris-Holyfield, a convicted felon, was illegally in possession of a handgun. Police reportedly made contact with Morris-Holyfield while responding to a dispute involving a car repossession on the 6300 block of Howard Street.

MAY 11

Debora Chacon, 26, of Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, police said.

A 2007 Toyota was reported stolen from a parking lot on the 6800 block of Milwaukee Avenue. Police said the car was parked unlocked and the keys inside.

MAY 12

A BB gun pellet was shot at the window of a house in the 9200 block of Callero Drive between May 11 and May 12, police said.

Fernando Heredia-Reyes, 26, of Evanston, was charged with retail theft after police said he stole from a store in the 6100 block of Touhy Avenue.
